Antonia Lofaso

Chef Antonia Lofaso's culinary creations are an invitation to dive into the depths of her personal world. The food she serves evokes curiosity that developed from stepping beyond the outskirts of Long Island and into the multi-cultural landscape that is Los Angeles. Cavatelli and Carnitas have the ability to coexist in harmony in the menus, a belief which has evolved in the course of time. All of her dishes are inspired by a distinct perspective for the future while also reminiscing about the past. Inspired by her heritage as an Italian-American, Lofaso opened Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 and was instantly well-received. The restaurant's version of old-school Italian has been called the one of Los Angeles' most compelling Italian restaurant chains. Lofaso's food is consistently genuine, warm and satisfying. Lofaso trained under famous chefs and mastered their methods, yet she was not unwilling to follow her own instincts. She worked with a variety of famous people and quickly rose through the ranks at Wolfgang Puck's Spago. In 2011 Lofaso partnered with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi to open Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City. The home of Lofaso was located within Black Market Liquor Bar and her business relationships. Lofaso had the chance to enjoy the creativity she had always wanted. Black Market has no one plan in sight and is the same way. The first course could be chip dill, followed by shishitos peppers. Then comes the Korean Wing, and lastly a meatball course. Antonia is the linchpin of this dazzling variety. Lofaso assesses the success she has had throughout her career by the innate ability she has to get to know her audience well and stay true to her personality. In the course of her career, both Top Chef Chicago episode and Top Chef: All Stars highlighted her capacity to be her self outside of the culinary environment. Since then she's maintained her professional career before cameras with judge on CNBC's Restaurant Startup Judge, as well as recurring appearances on The Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child. Lofaso has teamed up with Penguin to publish The Busy mom's Cookbook - 100 Recipes For Fast Delicious Home Cooked Meals in 2012. This cookbook also tells the story of her struggle as a mother of Xea as well as her studies in the French Culinary Institute. Lofaso maintains that the driving force behind her successes is the kitchen she uses. In this way, she is always on pulse. Chefletics transforms the appearance of Chefwear with its emphasis on style and functionality. Lofaso's main concern is to stay committed to her goals. With this in mind, she launched Antonia Lofaso Catering. This gives customers an extremely personal experience.
