Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American actress and singer. She was born and raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) and is Nurse and Tom Bell, a television news director. Her parents are of Polish descent (mother) as well as German, English and Scottish (father). Kristen found her talent in entertainment at an early age. When she was in 1992, she attended her first audition. She was given a part in Raggedy Ann And Andy. Bell aged 13 when her mother signed as an agent was also cast in advertisements for newspapers and television. Along with learning in private classes, she began her acting career in the year 2000. Bell played an uncredited part on Polish Wedding (1998), a film released in 1998. Bell was a part of the drama and musical club of Shrine Catholic High School. The Wizard of Oz production in her high school earned Bell the starring Dorothy character. After graduating, Bell moved to New York City to attend prestigious Tisch School of the Arts and was a musical theater student. Bell quit the school in 2001, when she took the role of Becky for Tom Sawyer. In 2001, she made her debut on the credit screen as Becky in Pootie Tang. But the scene she played was removed out of the movie and her appearance was only in the credits. Bell made an appearance together with Angela Bettis and Liam Neeson in 2002's Broadway revival of The Crucible.
